Group Therapy

At Look Who's Talking we're always devising new and creative ways to help our clients reach their full potential. One of the ways we strive to achieve this is through group therapy!

Why Group Therapy

Why Group Therapy?

Group therapy allows children to experience a range of benefits, otherwise not experienced in individual therapy. Children have the ability to work on their speech and language goals in a collaborative and supportive environment, while fostering the opportunity to engage with peers.

Group therapy has been shown to provide a more relaxed, natural environment for children to work towards their therapeutic goals and helps to improve their social interactions and social communication skills.

Most importantly, group therapy makes learning fun and has demonstrated an increase in children’s confidence when communicating with others.

School Holiday Activities

Our group therapy sessions consist of three (2hour) sessions guided by a Speech Pathologist and an Allied Health Assistant. Our Speech Pathologists and Allied Health Assistants work together to formulate tailored groups that focus on each of the group’s abilities and goals.

To meet the needs of each child, our Speech Pathologists work diligently to produce a range of interactive individualised resources to guide each child through the activities and meet their goals.

Following on from the group therapy, reports are written for each child detailing their progress throughout the sessions and highlighting their strengths and areas that have potential for improvement.
