A bit about us

We are a long established private practise based in Birkdale. We also consult from a clinic in Eight Mile Plains, which is expanding rapidly.

We offer individual assessment and individual/group therapy to clients with difficulties in speech, language, literacy, fluency, swallowing, feeding and social skills. Look Who's Talking Speech Pathology is a registered provider with NDIS, Helping Children with Autism (HCWA), Early Intervention, and Better Start Programs. Working days/hours are flexible and our Clinic operates 6 days per week.

About you

  • Manage clinical caseload independently with a high standard of clinical practice
  • Assess and treat a diverse caseload with a variety of needs including formal and informal assessment
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, carers and other health professionals involved in the clients' care
  • Work collaboratively with a team of allied health professionals
  • Maintain written records in a timely and confidential manner
  • Follow the principles of Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics or relevant professional governing body
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, supervision and caseload meetings
  • Tertiary qualification from an accredited university
  • Relevant memberships with professional associations
  • Outgoing and confident with the ability to work autonomously
  • Passionate about working with children and adults and their families
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with children and adults as well as their families and carer
  • Demonstrated exceptional written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organisational and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Broad-based theoretical knowledge
  • Possession of a current Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment issued by the Public Safety Business Agency. (Applicants who do not possess this but are willing to apply for the position, knowing they must satisfy eligibility criteria, will be considered.)
  • Current driver's licence and own vehicle
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance (or able to apply for same). You will be required to supply proof of Insurance etc.
